ABOUT

Step Up: Child Psychological Assessment Services, LLC, was founded by Josie A. Augustin, Ph.D., a licensed psychologist practicing in the South Florida area. Dr. Josie provides various school neuropsychological, psychoeducational, and other psychological assessments to address the problem of unfair learning situations in the classroom. In line with the neurodiversity in our society, every student should have an educational experience that is tailored to their needs so that he or she has a chance at succeeding. No student should feel like they hate school. It doesn’t make sense given all of the resources available to help. Every student has strengths. Each individual has something to offer. Everyone deserves a fair shot, and Dr. Josie is here to make sure they get it! If a student is falling behind, you can count on Dr. Josie to assess their situation and level the academic playing field to ensure his or her success. Even if therapy services are required, you can rest assured that Dr. Josie will develop a treatment plan that’s right for you/your child or refer appropriate services as necessary. Step Up believes in a holistic approach where all areas of functioning are addressed to promote overall wellness one STEP at a time!

Dr. Josie Augustin graduated with her bachelor of science degree from Nova Southeastern University (NSU), majoring in Psychology and Sociology and minoring in Counseling. She then obtained her MS and PhD degrees in Clinical Psychology from NSU and became a licensed psychologist in the state of Florida. She has completed several rotations, both pre-doctoral and post doctoral, providing testing and therapy services to a wide variety of populations. However, she remains passionate about providing educational and psychological services to children and adolescents to help them meet with overall success and ensure global wellness. Presently, Dr. Josie works at her private practice, Step Up: Child Psychological Assessment Services. She conducts various (neuro) psychological evaluations to children, adolescents, and college students. She also participates in speaking engagements to various populations in her community.
